Another week! :)

Hello!!! This week was GREAT! We had so many great things happen!

Here in Brasil, it was a week of holidays! São João and São Pedro (they are saints, and they have a huge party because of them...) But it was super fun to be a part of, for São João, everyone dresses up like hicks and scarecrows and it is super funny! And every single houe had a huge bon fire in front, we were walking down the streets in smoke! It reminded me of camping, and now we cant get the smoke smell out of our clothes! Fireworks every night, it is a cool view from our window! Corn on the Cobb, and tons of really good food! It was a week really good! :)

Senhor Pedro was baptised this week! It was such a beautiful day! (I have an embarassing moment) After the baptism, Sister Conçalves left the room and went to the font door to give him a handshake, and normally when we are waiting for the people to get dressed in dry clothes we sing hymn. So what happened, I left and when I came back the man directing the meeting was bearing his testiomny, and I just figured he did that to lead into singing, becuae I was gone and supposed to lead the music. So once we sat down, I stood up and said "lets sing!!" andd everyone was looking at me super werid. So i opened the hymn book and said, "does anyone have a hymn they want to sing?" (cricket noices) Turns out that they started a testimony meeting, but i wasnt there when he said it so i just looked like an idiot. Then i beared my testiomony. But it was funny! :) the spirit was so strong at his baptism. It was a great day! :)

This week was great! We have a lot of pictures because of all the parties that we happening in the ward and stuff! :)

This upcoming week is going to be so great! We have alot of people who are ready and excited to change their lives! :):)

I love you all so much. :) sorry this one is a little short!

São João

So the party of São João is starting here in my area! So there is tons of carnivels and parties, and the roads are full of decorations! It is so pretty! A little annoying at 3 in the morning when I am trying to sleep and there are fireworks and music in the road. but still so pretty :)

This week was great! We have been trying to find more people to teach and working really hard. This week we had a really cool experience with Alvaro and his family. We had it marked to go to their house at 3 in the afternoon, but the lessons that we had before him went long and tons of things came up that we didnt get there until 6 at night. 30 min before we got there, the family recived a call saying their sister died. She was really old and died natural. But they were super sad, just like any family would be. when we got there we were able to teach about familys eternal, and comfort them with a prayer and some scriptures. And when we left, there was a feeling a peace in the home. I know that we were able to there in the exact moment that this family needed. That we were able to comfort them when they needed, and that god really is looking out for all of his children at all times.

We meet a man named Pedro this week. He is AWESOME! he is older, and I thought that he looked about 65. BUT HE IS 84. He is super healthy. We have been teaching him. His wife is really sick, and she listens to the lessons sometimes, but dont have the ablity to do much. So i have started singing hymns to her every time we pass there and she loves it. :) I feel really greatful to be able to make her happy through music. But Pedro came with us to church this sunday and he loved it. And we even organized a car to take him home and he said no cause he would rather walk. when we got there to walk with him to church, he was all ready with his white shirt and black pants. and his tinted sun galsses! HE IS SO COOL! :)

Also, we were able to help decorate the road with one of the less active families we are teaching. They are great and super excited about the party.

I am so greatful for my chance to serve as a missionary. I know that this is the lords work and that he is guiding every moment. :)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE. my dad is the best out of all of them! :) and i am so thankful for his example to me my whole life.

Miracles are REAL

First off, thank you to my amazing parents for the package! and for everyone who put a card in there! Starting off the brithday week right! :)

This week was a great week! We had our Zone Meeting! it was great to see everyone again! I love our zone! We were able to talk about our desires and how we need to have good goals and brainstormed ways that we can reach our goals for this month!!

We are teaching this boy named Alvaro! he is perfect, He has so many questions and when we were there one of the first things he asked was "I dont understand why we have so many churchs, we just have one god, so why are there so many?" He is reading the Book of Mormon everyday and praying and has such a strong desire to learn more. He came to church with us this sunday and he was obsessed! and already planning when he will come back next time. He asked the teachers what they will study next week so he can study this week at home to be ready for this sunday!

This week we had a miracle! We had a fast, and in our fast we asked to have 3 people at church. We planned sunday morning to pass 5 different houses to bring people to chuch. the first three people had excuses not to go. Then Alvaro and Marcus, the last two houses, they came! When we were in the doorway of Marcus, Sister Coinçalves looked at me and said "we will have 3 people at church today!" i didnt know how, but I knew that the lord would help us with our rightous desire. We got to church, walked into sacrament meeting, and there sitting down with the elders, was Carlos.  A man we have been teaching. he came to church ALONE, and we had the three people there!

I am so thankful for the miracles that i see everyday! I know tthis is the lords work and i love being a part of it! :)

I love you all, i am praying for you! Remeber to look for the little things everday to make you happy, becuae they are there! :)

PICTURES WITH MONKEYS AND GUNS WHOO!!

Here are some pictures from yesterday (sunday) after church we went to the house of a member and spent the afternoon helping his family and talking. Then out of no where he was like "do you wanna see my pet monkey" and i was like "YES' (way to excited, as you can tell in my face when i am shaking the monkeys hand) we shot guns, and picked fresh fruit off of the tree and just having the best time ever! He has a grandma who is 87 years old, and her birthday is one day after mine, and she LOVED ME. she spent 30 mintues talking to me and then kept holding my hand while we were talking around the house. She is so cute, she doesnt speak or hear really well, but she would clap her hand and point at me. and then laugh and laugh. It was a good sunday afternoon after a slightly stressful morning of getting people to church! :)

also on this email i think there is a picture of us and a recent convert Senhor José! He is great and this week i sat next to him at church and he was looking at a little kid who was there and has about 2 years old. He had tears in his eyes when he said to me "this little boy will never realize how blessed he is to be raised in the gospel. I would have given anything to have known the truth sooner, but now i am just thankful to be here now" I had tears in my eyes when i thought of how greatful I am to have been raised in the truth, and how thankful I am that I will also raise my children the same way my parents raised me. After I told him that one day, that little boy will serve a mission and help other people learn the truth too, Senhor José got really happy after that. I have a special place in my heart for Senhor José, he reminds me ALOT of my Grandpa Hernandez, I even think they have the same eyes.

Oh how greatful I am so be a missionary! :)

This week was great! We started off Monday with a family night at a house of people we are teaching! It went so good, and then the spirit was so strong! Then this sunday we had a bunch of them at church! We brought one of our Recent Converts along, Victoria, and she said the prayer at the end and took time to bless every single person there like 10 times. it was so sweet. I love her faith!

This week we had Zone Conferance again! It was great! there was a member of the 70 there to talk to us, and then we all had to do a pratice inviting someone to get baptised! When I did mine it was in front of our mission president and i ALL the missionaries that were around were walking because the President was there. Now i speak portuguese fine now, I can say anything I want to say. But I got SO MUCH stage fright. But once I began to speak the words just came and it was smooth and went perfect. After the president left my comp told me that she was praying for my the whole time not to get nervous and I spoke perfect. I love my comp, and i love the faith that she has in me! :)

This week we were knocking on doors in a really rich area, when a women invited us in to talk to her. She told us ALL about how she loves our church and how young adults go out into the world to speak the words of god. She gave us water and told us to come back, shes great! I hope all goes well with her! :)

This week also, we met a women and her granddaughter. She lived in the USA for 3 years, so when she saw me she just wanted to pratice a little bit of english. I spoke to her for a little bit and told her about he engish class we each every satuerday for free. She got super excited and invited us to meet her grand daughter (who was born in the USA) we invited them to church, and Jennifer the grand daughter really wanted to go, the grandma is super weird about her leaving the house alone. But she had TONS of faith in us and she let Jennifer come to church!! Jennifer loved it! loved young womens! i am super pumped to teach them!! :)

I know that the lord is here in this work. I seriously see his hand EVERYDAY. I love being a misisonary! :):)

This week I ate snake, baby birds, and goat.. WOW!

here is some pics of the faily night and zone conferance! :)

sorry it isnt a super long email! :) but i am doing SUPER good! :)
